It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Floyd Summerford, aka William Floyd Knollmeyer. Bill died Saturday, October 3 ^rd , 2020 at the age of 76.

Beloved husband survived by Anna Summerford, his wife of 48 years. Loving father of Robert Summerford and Lisa Heath. Dear father-in-law to Tina and Justin. He was the proud grandfather to Dominic and Tatianna Heath, and Emmy Summerford.

Bill was the son of the late Cecilia Maue and is survived by his brother Vincent Summerford and wife Martha. He is also survived by brother-in-law Pasquale D'Agostino and wife Lorine as well as sister-n-law Angela Husk and husband Dannie.

A San Francisco native, Bill grew up surrounded by the rich culture of the Bay Area. At a young age his hobby of collecting sports cards and stamps would eventually develop into a deep appreciation of a range of collectables that included historical news clippings, classic literature, collectable toys, and a record collection that would be the envy of the most devoted music enthusiast. Even into his 70's, you could still catch him threading his reel-to-reel tape deck and listening to the oldies.

Bill was a quiet and kind gentleman, a committed San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan, and one that you could always count on for a smile. As a daily practice for most of his life, one of Bill's greatest joys was to sit alongside a rich cup of black coffee and read the San Francisco Chronicle, front to back, keeping his connection alive with the city he loved so much.

He was a devoted husband and father, and will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Bill will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church 1791 Marshall Road in Vacaville.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made in Bill's name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
